Choosing a Curriculum
- Academic Calendar
The academic calendar lists important dates (holidays, deadlines, etc.) throughout the academic year. See also the Registrar's Office calendars of important dates and academic events.
- Course Atlas
The Course Atlas is a descriptive listing of courses provided by the faculty in each Academic Department. Course content, required texts, and grading requirements are often listed. Students typically use the Course Atlas in conjunction with the Registrar's Schedule of Courses.
- Degree Audit
The degree audit is used to review a degree application.
- General Education Requirements
The general education requirements ensure that Emory graduates receive a broad array of intellectual approaches and perspectives to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in a rapidly changing world. All students must fulfill these requirements in order to obtain a baccalaureate degree. To self-check your status toward completing these requirements, use the General Education Requirements Worksheet (PDF).
- Majors and Minors
A complete listings of degree majors, minors, and co-majors offered.
- Mandatory Health Insurance
All new, continuing and international Emory University students (including Oxford College) who are degree-seeking are required to have health insurance.
- Online Pathway to University Students (OPUS)
OPUS is the University-wide information system for admitted and currently enrolled Emory College students, along with faculty and staff. By using OPUS you will find such information as transcripts and degree audits, financial aid awards, bills and online bill payment options, on-campus tour scheduling and incomplete items in Emory College admission applications. OPUS brings together Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Financials and Student Records (Registrar) in one user-friendly, integrated system.
- Writing Requirement for Post-Freshman
The writing requirement
ensures that Emory students are effective communicators who have developed skills in critical thinking and analysis. Students will find a list of courses that have been approved to satisfy a post-freshman writing requirement.
Special Programs
- Science Programs
Learn about the many science-oriented programs that are available at Emory, including advising resources, study abroad programs, and research opportunities.
- Special Degrees
Learn more about special degrees such as the Dual Degree Programs in Engineering with Georgia Institute of Technology.
- Study Abroad
The Emory Center for International Programs Abroad (CIPA) offers regular semester and summer study programs. The goal of these programs is to provide course work and curriculum of outstanding academic quality for students who wish to study a foreign culture, society, or language within the context of its native setting.
- Summer School
Details about Summer School application, registration, schedule, tuition fees, and housing.
- Transient Study (study at other colleges)
Transient study is credit for summer school away from Emory College and is open to any Emory College student with fewer than 68 academic credit hours. An Online Transient Study Application is available.
