Summer SchoolRegistration | Pre-College Program | Special Study | Study Abroad | Summer Course Atlas Registration for Summer Session 2009Emory College StudentsEmory College students may register for classes on OPUS beginning February 6, 2009. Students who need assistance with registration should go to the Woodruff Library Info Commons (3rd floor) on the registration day, Monday, May 18, for the 1st session, or Monday, June 29, for the 2nd session. Oxford College StudentsOxford College students may pre-register with Ann Cargile, Registrar, beginning February 6, 2009. Students who do not pre-register may register on the registration day, Monday, May 18 (1st session) or Monday, June 29 (2nd session) in the Woodruff Library Info Commons (3rd floor). New Emory StudentsStudents admitted to Emory for the fall semester as new or transfer students who wish to take summer courses should notify the Office of Admission in writing at least one month prior to the registration day of the session the student plans to attend. Visiting/Transient StudentsStudents without degree-seeking status at Emory must complete a Visiting Student Application and mail it to the Office of Admission, 200 B. Jones Center, Atlanta, GA 30322, with a $50 non-refundable application fee and a letter of good academic and disciplinary standing from the student’s home college or university. Visiting students may also submit the application, fee, and letter of good standing in person on the registration day, Monday, May 18 (1st session) or Monday, June 29 (2nd session) in the Woodruff Library Info Commons (3rd floor). The visiting student application is for the summer term only. Admission will not be granted for subsequent terms without the appropriate application and submission of required supporting documents. Once the Office of Admission grants admission to a visiting student for the summer term, that student may contact the Summer School office at 404-727-6257 for assistance in enrolling in a course or may enroll on the registration day. Visiting students admitted to Emory College for summer 2009 may apply for the Emory College Visiting Student Summer Scholarship. Students must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours to be eligible. Once admitted as a visiting student, complete and submit the scholarship application with a copy of your 2008-2009 financial aid award letter and a transcript from your home institution. Scholarship materials may be mailed to Summer Programs, 1385 Oxford Road, Atlanta, GA 30322. The application deadline is May 18, 2009. Awards are based on financial need and academic merit and cover partial tuition. Students in Special StandingStudents who hold an undergraduate degree and wish to enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses but do not desire admission to a degree program may apply for admission in special standing in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Applications are available from the Graduate School Office, 209 Administration Building, and must be submitted at least one month prior to registration. There is no guarantee that credit will be awarded for courses taken in special standing. Students may petition for credit toward a degree for work taken in special standing only after having been admitted formally to a degree program. ScheduleStudents may apply and enroll in classes on the date of registration—May 18 for the first session and June 29 for the second session—in the Woodruff Library Info Commons (3rd floor). Tuition and FeesTuition for Summer Session is $1,119 per semester hour for Emory College students and visiting students and $925 per semester hour for Oxford College students. A $40 athletic fee is charged to all on-campus students. Students who enroll in summer classes must settle their financial account in the Boisfeuillet Jones Center or mail payment to Student Financial Services before the registration day. Registration is not complete unless tuition and fees are paid. Students may access OPUS to determine the amount they owe and to avoid class cancellation for nonpayment.
