Dear Academic Departments,
ATLBound is a series of events geared toward transitioning our Oxford College students to the Atlanta campus.
We received extremely positive feedback on our academic department info sessions during Virtual Orientation for first-year students in August (thank you!) so we are replicating this component for our 500 incoming Oxford graduates. Under approval from Michael Elliott and Doug Hicks, we are changing the ATLBound format for the 2020-2021 academic year.
In place of a January event, we will do a series of events throughout the fall semester. In order to introduce our Oxford College students to all of the academic opportunities on Atlanta campus, we are asking each Academic Department for the following:
1. Academic Department Video (Required):
Pre-Record a 5-15 minute Zoom information session covering your department and submit video here by October 5 at noon. New Student Programs will then include your content within the Virtual ATLBound platform. Please see important information at the bottom of this email prior to recording your video to learn more about ATLBound and Oxford students.
2. Open Office Hours (Optional): Academic Departments are invited to utilize Zoom to interact with Oxford College students throughout the weeks of November 2 and November 9. In order to accommodate different time zones, we recommend hosting 1-2 open office hours throughout this two week period between 9-10am or after 6pm EST. We recognize this might not be feasible for some departments and other times throughout the day are completely fine. If you intend to host office hours, submit your open office hours here by October 5 at noon.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns moving forward by emailing ec.orientation@emory.edu. To check the status of your video submission, please click here.
