Catalog Description: Selected topics and problems in political science. Content will vary in successive offerings of this course. May be repeated for credit when topic varies.

Semester Details: In “Capitalism and Freedom,” Milton Friedman posited that “capitalism is a necessary condition for political freedom” and, further, that it is “clearly possible to have economic arrangements that are fundamentally capitalist and political arrangements that are not free.”  In this course, we will use the writings of Friedman and Hayek as a starting point, to study the relationship between economic liberty and political liberty.
