Catalog Description: Fall semester. The first half of a yearlong introductory course designed to train students to understand, speak, read, and write Spanish.

Semester Details:

CONTENT: Spanish 101 is a beginning-level integrated skills language course designed to promote basic communication in (and within) Hispanic communities and to heighten cultural awareness.  The goals of this course include: 1) learning to use Spanish to communicate (through intensive interaction), primarily in speaking and listening, but also in reading and writing; 2) studying Hispanic cultures to be able to understand how culture affects language use.

PARTICULARS: Evaluation is based on daily active participation, homework (that includes some short writing assignments), Quia ESAM (Electronic Student Activities Manual), and exams.
