Catalog Description: Structured opportunity to improve skills in drawing and painting and to expand aesthetic awareness while developing personal expression.

Semester Details:

Students with intermediate experience in drawing and painting will further develop and build on their skills. Emphasis will be placed on broadening the students’ acquaintance with visual elements and materials, modern and historical practices, and personal development. Independent projects will supplement in-class work.

Cost of art materials may vary depending upon the individual projects (approximately $100). Students will pay a lab fee of $50.

From here students will see a list of items. Students will need to order one of each item except for the 16x20 canvas panels which students will need to order three of. The kits will be delivered to the Emory Visual Arts Building free of charge if ordered by the deadline, January 15th by 6pm. All other orders will be charged a shipping fee and delivered to the address of your choice. Grading

Grades will be based on class involvement, growth of understanding, execution of assignments and final portfolio. The three-hour class session will be complemented by outside assignments and individual consultation for the four credit hours in this course.
