Catalog Description: Voter and candidate decision-making during primary and general elections, patterns of partisan support in the electorate, and factors affecting campaign strategy in American elections.

Semester Details: An examination of the contemporary electoral process in the US with comparisons to other industrial democracies. Topics covered include the US party and electoral systems, primaries and nominations, voter turnout, partisanship and ideology in the electorate, political campaigns, issue voting and electoral reform.
