Catalog Description: Suggested prerequisite: Political Science 110. Procedures and practices regarded by states as constituting international law, with major emphasis on contemporary problems and probable trends.

Semester Details:

This course offers a survey of international law: the body of formal rules generally considered by states to constitute legal rights and duties in their relations with each other. The study of these rules will be preceded by consideration of the nature and purpose of international law, its sources, strengths and weaknesses and the manner of its growth through judicial interpretation and legislative formulation.
