Catalog Description: Fall, spring. Sample spaces, probability, Bayes theorem, independence, random variables, binomial distributions, normal distribution, sampling distributions, confidence intervals.
Semester Details: Elementary methods for calculating probabilities along with the construction of statistical models. Illustrations from the social sciences and natural sciences. A major goal is to enable the student to draw the correct conclusions to statistical questions, avoiding some of the pitfalls and fallacies encountered.
