Catalog Description: Every semester. Intensive writing course that trains students in expository writing through a number of variable topics. Satisfies first-year English writing requirement.
Semester Details: Content: This writing-intensive course introduces students to major essays and ideas in American history, from the founding to the present. Typical readings include works by George Washington, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Washington Irving, Ronald Reagan, Benjamin Franklin, Henry Adams, Martin Luther King, Jr., Richard Wright, and Flannery O'Connor. These works are made available in custom packets.
