Catalog Description: Advanced seminar with emphasis on critical texts, methods, and techniques of art historical investigation. For art history majors; open to others with permission from the instructor.

Semester Details:  

We will be studying the form, function, and meaning of landscape imagery produced in Germany and the Low Countries in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, with an emphasis on the meditative, exegetical, historical, and recreational uses to which such pictures were put.
