Catalog Description: Fall, spring. Proper techniques of weight training are taught and emphasized. Individual strength programs will be designed using free weights systems.

Semester Details:

This is an introductory course in the use of free weights in the development of muscle fitness, muscle strength, and muscle endurance. Individualized programs will be designed and implemented. A limited amount of Cybex equipment may be utilized in addition to free weights.
Will cover principles of weight training as well as body composition, nutrition, and general physical fitness. Fulfills Principles of Physical Fitness requirement.

Particulars: This course is limited to those students who have little or no previous experience in free weights. A practical skills assessment will be utilized to evaluate learned exercise technique,  Pre and post physical fitness assessment will be administered. Textbook required. Additional materials may be provided by instructor.
