Freshmen Advising & Mentoring at Emory (FAME)

Overview | Advisor Overview | Contact Us

Overview

Three students standing and talkingFreshman Advising and Mentoring at Emory (FAME) delivers first-rate academic advising and prepares incoming students for building a unique college experience at Emory. The program brings together faculty, staff, and student leaders to mentor first-year students on the ins and outs of college life and help them discover their special niche at Emory.

Usually consisting of 16 to 18 first-year students, FAME groups are led by members of Emory’s faculty and staff, as well as two experienced students. While these leaders can answer almost any question first-year students have, they can also introduce students to important campus resources that will support their academic success.

All first-year students are required to participate in the FAME program and will be pre-assigned a FAME group prior to registration.

First-year students will receive one semester hour of academic credit toward their Emory College degree for successful participation in this program. Grading for the program is done on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.

If you have any questions, the FAME administrators will be happy to assist you.
