The Emory Pre-College Program offers a range of credit and non-credit short courses that allow students to explore interests in a challenging classroom environment.
Six-Week Courses for Credit
Schedule
Session 1: May 18–June 26, 2009 (commuter students only)
Session 2: June 28–August 8, 2009 (residential program available)

- The Brain that Abuses Drugs
- Neuroscience in the News Media
- Neuroscience for Animal Lovers
- The Psychology of Novels
- Shakespeare: Page and Screen
- Hamlet: The Last Action Hero
- Spectacular Soundtracks – Music in Movies
- Photography
- Modern Dance Technique
- Music Theory and Ear Training
- Contemporary Non-fiction
- Beowulf Boot Camp
Workshops, speakers and brown bag lunch sessions on topics of interest to high school student will complement the academic program.
Topics may include:
- Time management and study strategies for the college-bound student
- College Admission Information Session, including instruction for composing the college essay
- Admission Portfolio
- Financial Aid and Money Management
- How to engage in undergraduate research
- Visits to other colleges in the Atlanta area
