Extreme Blue Internships at IBM. Five students from Emory will be selected to apply for the Extreme Blue internships at IBM in the UK. Eligibility:
Application deadline: October 21. Please contact Dr. Phil Hutto in the Math/CS department. Vineyard in Tuscany. This high-quality vineyard welcomes students during harvest time to participate in the harvesting process and learn about wine making. Emory students will be housed at the University of Siena, where they will also take classes. Chemistry courses will be offered in English by participating faculty. Knowledge of Italian is recommended. Students can also take an accelerated Italian course at the beginning of their stay. Open to Chemistry majors. Pharmaceutical Industries in South Africa: General internships for science majors in several industries in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Other International Internships Students interested in internships in international locations should contact Dean Ram. The Emory Alumni Office works with SEA to place students in internships through the Alumni network. Community Engagement: There are several options for students who would like to engage in a community-related experience that is relevant to their intellectual interests. For example, science majors can work with K-12 school children and teachers in several programs. At the University of Cape Town, students in the semester program and those participating in the new Global Health Interdisciplinary Studies program in June/July 07 can work with adult and young learners in the township of Khaeylitsha outside Cape Town.
